Napoleon Bonaparte History Video

Napoleon was born in Corsica in 1769. In 1796 he moved to Italy to become the commander of the French army. He then conquered Ottoman in Egypt. His fleet was destroyed by the British at the Battle of the Nile. In 1810 he divorced Josephine de Beauharnais and married the daughter of the Austrian emperor.

French Rulers

The last couple days in French II we've learned about various rules, their families, and things they went through throughout their lives. Napoleon Bonaparte was involved in military as well as politics. He had many accomplishments as a military leader. He had been married several times, to Josephine who had affairs on him, so they separated. He then married Marie Louise who was related to Marie Antoinette. He had a son with Marie Louise. Throughout his second marriage he was still in love with Josephine and was devastated after her death. His son, Barcelona II ended up dying in his twenties of tuberculosis. Basically, they're lives were full of drama, like a big soap opera.

He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not

The last two days in class we watched a movie starring Audrey Tautou who does a wonderful job playing parts of creepy, socially awkward characters. She's in love with a married man, who barely knows of her existence. Tautou has this idea in her head that they're in love, she even buys plane tickets so they could run away to Italy together. She then proceeded to go to the airport with her bags all packed, and then was surprised that he didn't show up. Throughout the movie she continues to stalk him, outside his window, leaves him grotesque gifts, and so on. At the end of the movie she hits him over the head with a heavy object, he goes to the hospital, and she goes to a different type of hospital, a mental institute. She does try to escape, but eventually she get's better and is released. The movie ends there to leave you hanging, not knowing what she does next.
